Oak and maple litter, gutters and downspouts
Oak and maple are common in Berks County, and they drop a lot of leaves, twigs and seed pods onto roofs and gutters. Wet leaves in a gutter overflow onto the wall below, and decaying leaves on a deck stain the boards with brown tannin. Pine needles pile up in corners and keep shingles damp.
Clean gutters are the first line of defense, because overflow causes many of the stripes seen on siding. After a wash, the surfaces look clean for a while, then growth returns in shaded places. The wash resets the surface, and good habits such as clearing debris, trimming branches and sweeping decks make the result last. We explain which habits help most on your property so the investment holds up.
